Your alias is Lurker, not anymore.

I think I'm screwing myself
by nonamegiven inget your mind out of the gutter, not screwing myself that way haha.. for those that don't know, i'm df'd, trying to get reinstated so i can get family/friends back in my life than fade away faster than the only good radio station you can tune in on a long road trip.
basically, i can't keep my mouth shut.
my mom and i were talking the other day.

NNG,
You have a tough situation for sure. I marvel at those in this discussion group who contribute yet for reasons of Family they stay in. I was DF'ed and reinstated but because of the treatment I received while on the outside, my decision was made up then to fade for similiar reasons as you. it's worked for me but I'm fortunate. so far...
Now, if I was as educated with what we learn here and abroad, I don't think I could last at a meeting beyond the opening song. I can handle funerals, strange thing to say huh?, but I too can't keep my mouth shut. spouting lies in front of me, especially on a subject I am qualified to respond to is what kills me to stay silent. It's hard enough when I'm at JW relatives home's not to bite my tongue all the way thru! that's why I refer to my JW family as "small doses " it's all I can take and keep the peace.
No easy answer since It's so personal for you but know we understand and are with you whatever you decide.Hang in there!!

Pat Robertson Prediction
by robhic ini didn't see this anywhere here, so thought you might be amused by this story.. i was watching fox news this morning.
they had a quick story about ole pat robertson predicting a major terrorist strike in the us sometime after september of 2007. millions would be affected (he didn't specify killed or what, just affected...).
but the kicker was this:.

His initials are not PR for nothing.
The sad thing thing is, many of those who follow him will believe it as Gospel and spread this nonsense to others and criticize others for not seeing it as from God.
Sound familiar..

Should I dye my hair?
by confusedjw in<------- i'm getting more and more "salt" in my "pepper".

I kinda dig the salt & pepper look... it says "mature" and "experience" to me.
Yeah leave it, seeing us older guys with too dark of hair looks strange. keep the salt and pepper look. mine is more salt and cinnamon.

I think it might be more jealousy than shunning. Some people like to say or treat those who they secretly wish they were or looked like.
Let me see, a well dressed tall woman...

We Got To Meet MrsJones5 and her family....
by AK - Jeff inwe were on our way to the colts game in indianapolis sunday and we had been able to arrange a little stopover at their home.. what a pleasure to meet the entire family.
we had a great time, but sadly it only lasted an hour or so, before we had to trek on down to the rca dome and get to our seats.. a nice time was had by wifey and i. i hope we get to spend time together again.
it was a great new years eve present.

Never got around to taking any pics. Should have - but my mug might've broke the darn thing.
I'm sure that's not true, but I do resist pictures myself given my families treatment of me like I'm the walking dead. ( probably no reflection the camera would pick up anyway! ) HA! .

Ongoing 'Don't shun me' campaign.
by AK - Jeff inas many of you know by now - i do not tolerate 'shunners'.
i have done no evil, killed no one, never raped or pillaged any witnesses.
i do not tolerate small-minded witnesses who called me 'brother' for most of 40 years, now acting as if i am no better than sh*t on the bottom of their shoes.

Wow, great letter Jeff!
Heres to that pork chop salesman getting to feel uncomfortable for a change. if he cannot treat customers as such, let him go back to shopping cart chasing.
Sounds like HIS employer needs to trim the fat..
